Hello,
I hope someone out there can help me. I have a Dolomite Legacy 600
rollator walker issued by the VA. The brakes are no longer holding. I
went to the VA, and they tell me the staff can't adjust them, and
since it's over two years since it was ordered, I need to schedule
another appointment with my primary to get it repaired, or replaced.
That will take forever, not including the problems I have with
transportation back to the VA.
IT'S ONLY A BRAKE ADJUSTMENT that it needs, but the VA won't budge.
The mechanism works but I think over time the cable has stretched,
and/or brake shoes have worn down.
The manufacturers website is a joke. It says if the brakes don't hold,
to adjust them with 8 mm and 10 mm wrenches. Problem is that it
doesn't say HOW to adjust them. What to loosen, what to tighten, etc,
etc.
Is there anyone who can send me a short tutorial on how to adjust
these brakes?

Many thanks in advance.

Is there a bicycle store, or a decent mechanically oriented
bicyclist next door?
